About

As a dedicated arts professional with extensive experience in the classical music industry and performing arts festivals, I believe that the arts can help to connect people and communities.

My expertise lies in crafting compelling narratives and strategies that amplify the reach and impact of cultural organisations. With a particular interest in projects that engage people from all backgrounds, I seek to collaborate with individuals and organisations that believe the arts should be accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for everyone.

Communications

After studying music at Durham University, I completed an internship at English National Opera before working as a Publicist for the BBC Proms and BBC Radio 3. Over six years at the BBC, I also led PR campaigns for BBC Two and BBC Four's arts programming and worked in the press teams for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Radio 6 Music.

After relocating to Scotland, I was Senior Media Officer at the Edinburgh International Festival for three festivals managing broadcast media activity and classical music communications before embarking on a freelance career. My clients have included Scottish Opera, East Neuk Festival, and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Association of British Orchestras.

Most recently, I have worked with RDMR as Head of Press, supporting clients including City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra, Jess Gillam, the Royal Philharmonic Society, and Manchester Collective, among others.

Creative Learning

I help to design and deliver creative learning and engagement projects that open the door for people from all backgrounds to experience the power of the performing arts. I have coordinated children's workshops for Music Nairn and the Nairn Book & Arts Festival, and am grateful for recent experience with the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, Scottish Chamber Orchestra's Creative Learning team and Edinburgh International Festival's Discovery and Participation team. This has deepened my interest and commitment to fostering accessibility and creativity through the arts.

I also give private piano and music theory tuition. I studied Piano to Grade 8 Distinction level (ABRSM) for which I was awarded the Lloyd Hartley Memorial Prize before attending the University of Durham where I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with First Class Honours.
